Default Griffon's, Troll's and droknar run

is it me or does it all seam 2 be ALOT harder now?

i use 2 be able 2 do the droknar run fine and now just be4 the 1st portal i die where theres more people then be4 and they do more dmg...

the griffons just seam 2 be able 2 kill me easy now... (im taking on the whole area at 1 time) Bonetti's defence doesnt seam 2 work as good any more...
same goes for the trolls...

anyone else finding them hard?

no..I adjusted my build and it works fine. cookie-cutter forum builds don't work as well anymore.

I checked out the trolls outside droknars and the griffons at the west exit of Elonas and didn't notice much of a difference though there were alot more devourers on the griffon run. The griffons had better drops than I'm used to, got at least 5 gold max items, though none were sellable and 2 keys. The trolls had lame drops, (only got 2 tusks from the initial huge group ) but I did get a key from them too...

I was primarily farming for keys, I think it's insane to spend 600 gold for one of those shiverpeak keys!

i spent 4k on the shiverpeak keys yesturday :P

i just edited the build i use and griffons seam 2 be around the same as be4 now, will try trolls again see whats what with them. anyone done the droknar run since the new updates been out?

5 gold max items?!?! in 1 run?

Haven't tried it yet since the change to zealot's fire (damn you Anet). But if you say the drops are better I'll have to give it a look.

what did they change 2 zealot's fire? i dont see any difference =/


edi: just gave the trolls 2 goes and there alot harder now, they have more change of making ur skills take ages 2 regen or what ever. guess im not farming them again

No, but I did get 2 in the first run which made me go back for 2 more runs. Also it wasn't just that they were gold, they were gold, max and the upgrades were nice, though not perfect. I even kept a shortbow (it was 14% > 50 instead of 15%)...

I was mainly using healing breeze/prot spirit for fueling zealots, so that might be why I'm not really noticing any difference...

the droknar u have a 98% chance 2 fail i say, its far 2 hard now! things follow u for long ammount of time u hardly have chance 2 heal and rest, theres more monsters in the path and theres now more then 1 type of thing in a group, at 1 point theres 4 different monsters, then ice things (can hex ur hp), them 1s that throw rocks (can do -54dmg) then the grawls got some that hex the shit out of u, then the hammer 1s that just take ur hp away like a drain -10+ each hit. this is all at 1 point.

so realy ur just f**ked now on the run. so i guess the droknar run is not do able now. thats me p*ssed off... i was making 30k-60k in 1-2hours which isnt 2 bad...

Yes the drok run is harder now, but still achievable and why the hell are you using bonetti's defence!? get your skills in order dude.

1: sprint
2: balanced stance
3: charge
4: smite hex
5: purge conditions
6: mending
7: heal sig
8: blessed sig

kill all weapon skills and dump them in healing prayers if you are a Warrior/Monk if you're not a Warrior/Monk expect to be completely unable to run the forge in the fullness of time. Im seeing more and more and more arcanists pop up on the road there.

heh. let's help the cookie cutter build people out. not that i mind...its running. which anet approves of. supposedly... but anyway, a drok runner can be useful for my next character, so i dont object. =)

i charge 2k pp for drok run, running anywhere else (in desert, to war camp, to yaks etc) is free, tips welcome. i dont think what im doing is detremental, but ppl can abuse my services to get drok armor to use in ascalon 10 and below arena. i cant stop them doin that.

i charge on the drok run as its time consuming and has increasing difficulty

Yep I just ran droks, its harder

new things to make it hard.

-ice imps now shatter enchantment
-aviacara now shatter enchantments
-aviacara now use rust
-grawl now use poison
-increased number of arcanists
-increased number of those little ghost looking kitties..the spirit things, whatever.
-enemies now attack out of aggro range (that little bubble on your radar)
-enemies now pursue you when you are out of aggro range
-minor placement variation for all mobs allowing less resting time

With the new changes Ive been unable to run the forge, I can still run everywhere else, but the forge is definately harder. I'll need more practise to find new ways/methods of negotiating it.

And Soil, the change to Zealot's Fire is that skills that self-target (shouts, etc.) no longer trigger it. But, no I haven't seen any increase in enemy difficult in my farming route.

I had mending on, ran past the first group of enemies exactly outside beacons perch Ice Imps and those tree dudes...and when i stopped for a rest, mending was off. 0_o something took it off me.


Edit: I just made the run successfully. I think the real thing thats making it harder is ice golems using "deep freeze" slowing me down and if i smite hex, someone else does it, its hindering me running to a safe spot where I can regen. I never recall the ice golems on drok doing this, yes the ones for war camp do it, but i always recall drok golems did rust and ice trident, that was it. I made it, but it's certainlly alot harder now, doable but harder.

Why did they change it? Runners still run low level ppl to droks, and now the average run price has risen from 2-3 k to 3-5k. All this update has done is made it harder and sent prices up.

They may have changed it to discourage running to droks specifically. I know in an interview that was done with Anet, they said they had no problems with people being run, but had gotten alot of complaints about low levels in Ascalon and Yaks arenas already having drok's armor, and that they did have a problem with. So maybe instead of punishing the lowbies for breaking the spirit of the game, they're just trying to discourage runners from making that trip. That, of course, will never work until they make it truely impossible to run.

I can kill things and i can practicaly go to almost everyplace in the game safely
with groups or with hench or like even alone, but my god how the hell you guys
& girls run people places like you do is beyond me, .

I tried that droknars run a hundred times if not more and i failed everytime, .
Tried the desert places and get swamped by scarabs or owned by five or more
hydras etc etc, can only say well done to you who can do it, you saved me alot
of time and effore getting to places, but i think i'll stick to the killing, .
